PANEL SHUTTERS

In order to make storm protection affordable to everyone, JHA has created the most affordable but practical option for storm protection – the Caribbean Shield Panel Shutters. The panels are “do it yourself, easy to install storm protection. You simply install the tracks on your windows and leave them up all year round. When a hurricane or storm warning goes out, you simply place panels over the studs and tighten with wing nuts. To make your life even easier, JHA makes available everything you need to install these panels yourself including the drills.

BENEFITS

  • Most inexpensive of the permanent shutter systems.
  • Removable, so they don’t change the look of the house when not in use.
  • Strong and can provide excellent protection for both doors and windows.

  • STYLES:

    Aluminum Panels

As long as aluminum is kept away from a combination of water and electricity, the panels should last around twenty (20) years.

    Galvanized Steel Panels

Galvanized steel is a heavier product and will corrode over time, but if the panels are kept in storage away from humidity when not in use, they should last as long as the aluminum panels. If stored correctly, panels require minimum maintenance.

    PANEL:

    How to Measure:

Measure the height of the window and look at the table below for length of panel needed. Each panel is 12" wide so measure the width of window and divide by 12. It is that easy to calculate and even easier to install!

    Galvanized Steel Panels

    36" (covers 30" high window)
    54" (covers 48" high window)
    66" (covers 60" high window)
    78" (covers 72" high window)
    90"(covers 84" high window / 87" door)

    Alumnum Panels

    36" (covers 30" high window)
    54" (covers 48" high window)
    66" (covers 60" high window)
    78" (covers 72" high window)
    90"(covers 84" high window / 87" door)

    Installation:

As an option, panels and frames can be self-installed, as the installation process is relatively simple. This would result in an approximate 25% reduction in the cost required. It is also possible to powder coat the panels if a specific colour is required. This would attract an additional cost which can be provided upon request.
